Sam Houston State University

Research Priorities & Collaboration

"Sam Houston State University aims to be at the forefront of employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive health equity. We're investing in interdisciplinary research projects that use AI to analyze health data and identify disparities, with a particular emphasis on vulnerable populations, as well as projects leveraging AI to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare. By forming alliances with community organizations and those providing medical and mental health services, we aim to test and scale these AI interventions for widespread benefit. In parallel, we are creating educational curricula to promote the responsible and ethical use of AI in scholarship and clinical practice. We aim to ensure that AI-enabled healthcare is advanced, ethical, equitable, and accessible." -- SHSU
