Howard University

Research Priorities & Collaboration

"Howard University and its Health Sciences enterprise are renowned for advocating on behalf of underserved populations, with a mission to exercise health equity and social justice principles in caring for its communities.  Through AIM-AHEAD, we plan to build a Health Equity laboratory with machine-learning capacity that will allow biomedical researchers and clinicians to leverage big data for actionable findings in service of our communities.  The ultimate goal is to influence precision medicine, support clinical decision-making and give insight into population-relevant pharmacotherapy and biology, always with the lens of ethically-driven health equity practices."  -- HU 2023
