AIM-AHEAD Training Program Applications Coming Soon!

AIM-AHEAD will launch call for applications for five training programs this fall! These programs are in collaboration with multiple AIM-AHEAD partners, providing impactful training curricula that utilize each partner’s specific dataset.

Applications will open for Cohort II of the AIM-AHEAD All of Us and AIM-AHEAD & NCATS Training Programs. In partnership with All of Us and Research Triangle Institute (RTI), the AIM-AHEAD All of Us Training Program allows trainees to build on foundational data science knowledge and complete projects with the All of Us data and infrastructure in the Researcher Workbench. Similarly, AIM-AHEAD and the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) will partner again to offer trainees the opportunity to build the skills needed to apply artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) to real-world health data and conduct a project using the NCATS National COVID Cohort Collaboration (N3C) Data Enclave.

We are also excited to introduce three new training programs!

Two of the three training programs are in partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Common Fund’s Bridge to Artificial Intelligence (Bridge2AI) program. The first is with the Artificial Intelligence Ready and Equitable Atlas for Diabetes Insights (AI-READI), which seeks to create and share a flagship ethically sourced dataset of type 2 diabetes. The second is with the Bridge2AI AI/ML in Clinical Care Network (CHoRUS Program) and Bridge Center — whose dataset strives to be the most diverse, high-resolution, ethically sourced, and AI-ready — to answer the challenge of improving recovery from acute illness. The final program is in partnership with the NIH Science Collaborative for Health Disparities and Artificial Intelligence Bias Reduction (ScHARe) program. ScHARe is a cloud-based platform in population science that includes Social Determinants Of Health and datasets designed to fill critical health disparities research and artificial intelligence gaps.

All training programs remain focused on engaging a diverse workforce of researchers committed to gaining proficiency in AI/ML data analysis to apply their expertise to benefit communities underrepresented in biomedical research. Be sure to check future newsletters and AIM-AHEAD.net for when the call for applications are launched!
