AIM-AHEAD and AIHEC Establish New Partnership
AIM-AHEAD is proud to begin our mutually beneficial, coordinated, and trusted partnership with the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC). This program will consist of a multi-phase and multi-year approach that will result in the enhancement and representation of Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) in artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) curriculum development and implementation through a model of federated learning.
The first phase of the AIM-AHEAD and AIHEC partnership is the creation and recruitment of an Academic Community of Practice (ACP). The ACP will engage TCU leaders with AIM-AHEAD and AIHEC representatives in discussion on a common interest to start or expand data science, health informatics, and AI/ML curriculum in TCUs. Guidance given by the ACP will inform AIM-AHEAD and AIHEC on strategies to build AI/ML training capacity for TCU leaders, faculty, and students from across 27 TCUs with a primary focus on 129 majors related to health careers, nursing, computer science, or computer technology.
We look forward to the valuable expertise that will be gained from collaborating with ACP members. We will continue to inform our AIM-AHEAD community on the progress of the program and future phases to come!
