Conference on Health IT and Analytics (CHITA) 2023

TRAVEL AND PARTICIPATION GRANTS

What? We are pleased to announce a grant for participation in CHITA (Conference on Health IT and Analytics), an annual research summit and doctoral consortium that gathers prominent scholars in a multidisciplinary setting. The grant will cover all travel, lodging, food, and registration expenses, plus a $500 stipend.

 

Where? In-Person; The Westin Georgetown Hotel.

 

When? Friday and Saturday, May 5-6, 2023.

 

Who? Working professionals (clinicians, researchers, administrators), and students (undergraduates, masters, and doctoral).

 

How? To apply, please send an email to cdhai@jhu.edu with the following information: 

 

  • Your resume, and LinkedIn page if available.
  • One brief paragraph describing your interest in applying AI in healthcare to enhance equity and diversity.

 

Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis until the funding is depleted. We expect to provide approximately 10 awards. We encourage you to apply as early as possible.

 

Why? CHITA focuses on the increasing role, importance, and impact of analytics and health information technology in improving individual and population health, and health system quality and performance. This travel and participation award will encourage participation from underrepresented communities and foster digital healthcare and AI implementation lessons for dissemination.

 

About AIM-AHEAD: The AIM-AHEAD Coordinating Center was established to enhance diversity in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), with an emphasis on reducing health disparities and promoting health equity. We hope to achieve this by engaging in a fair, equitable, and transparent process of building a consortium of AI/ML to promote health equity and an inclusive and diverse workforce. Many communities have untapped potential to contribute new expertise, data, recruitment strategies, and cutting-edge science to the AI/ML field. The AIM-AHEAD Coordinating Center seeks to increase participation and engagement through mutually beneficial partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and outreach to advance health equity.
