CERP and AIM-AHEAD Community Engagement Sessions
Dr. Andrews Oval Garlid will present an "Introduction to Generative AI: Use Cases, Resources, and Best Practices", exploring how generative AI and large language models (LLMs) can enhance brainstorming, reference gathering, and content summarization in your research endeavors, as well as assisting with basic tasks such as event and travel planning and automation of basic administrative tasks. The session will address critical pitfalls, including data embedding, security, privacy, and copyright issues, emphasizing concerns about AI usage in data analysis or in writing grants and publications. Additionally, best practices will be discussed -- both in a research or clinical environment as well as in one’s private life -- and how to access secure AI resources (like UCLA’s Gemini and Copilot) or run your own in-house LLMs on your local machine.
